The Salisbury Amateur Operatic Society, or SAOS for short, is an amateur society performing musicals and operetta in Salisbury, United Kingdom. The SAOS is registered as a charity.

The Salisbury Amateur Operatic Society was formed in 1908, and the first show it performed was Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance. Until 1946 only one show was performed each year, but from 1946 onwards 2 shows have been played each year, with a couple of exceptions. At present, and each year, one show is performed in May, and another in December.
Productions were put on hold during 1914-1921 and 1939-1945 due to the two world wars.
2008 is, therefore, the society's 100th birthday, and to celebrate various events are planned around the local area, and Pirates of Penzance will once again be performed in the May show of 2008.

The SAOS consists of acting and non-acting members, patrons, and is run by a central committee. The committee is made up of any members of the society who are voted in. The society is a member of NODA.

Productions almost exclusively take place at the City Hall, Salisbury. Performances have also taken place at the Playhouse, Salisbury, and the Society has performed in France.
