[edit] Games
The Saints Row series currently has the original Saints Row game, a spin-off of this exclusively for mobiles, and also Saints Row 2, currently under production and slated for a release of October 14 this year.
[edit] Saints Row
Saints Row is an open-world sandbox game, and the first game in the franchise. The game shipped on the Xbox 360 system in August/September 2006. It was later planned for release on the PlayStation 3, but was canceled due to the decisions to focus production on Saints Row 2 instead.[1] Saints Row was a best-seller, and was re-packaged to ship in the Xbox Platinum Hits series.[2] The game has sold over 1 million units worldwide[3], and has picked up multiple awards for its originality and creativity - offering a different style to that of similar video game franchise Grand Theft Auto.
[edit] Saints Row (mobile)
Exclusively designed for mobiles and released shortly after the release of Saints Row came this game. With a smaller size city and content, it was available for download and has become popular for those who want to experience Saints Row but do not own an Xbox 360 system.
[edit] Saints Row 2
Saints Row 2 is the sequel to Saints Row, slated for a release date of October 14, 2008 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC systems. The storyline will continue on from where Saints Row left off. The player has been critically wounded after the events in the climax of the first game and undergoes plastic surgery and sets off on a bloodthirsty quest for revenge. Saints Row 2 is without a doubt one of the most anticipated games for 2008, offering a completely original take on this style of game, despite allegations and accusations that Saints Row and Saints Row 2 are merely 'GTA Clones'. The Stilwater of Saints Row 2 will be bigger and better, and with the addition of many new vehicle types in the game, will be more fun to roam in, out and around. Other new features are expansions on the characters customisation options- most notably the option to play as a female character, but also more advanced options ie voice, age, height, weight, taunts, gestures etc. Saints Row 2 also offers more clothing and weapon choices, giving the player a range of new items never before seen in a game. What makes Saints Row 2 unique is the fact that the player can buy both female and male clothes, giving the player the option of playing as transvestite style character. Missions and activities have also been expanded on, with a much darker and more sinister story than that of Saints Row's, with three new gangs in power over Stilwater, and also the addition of many new activities, plus some old favourites which have been expanded on to give the player a completely new take on what they liked in Saints Row.
