Saint Nicholas in Ukraine
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In Ukraine, the folkloric character of Saint Nicholas (Ukrainian: Святий Миколай, Svyatyy Mykolay) is a man who, like his English counterpart Father Christmas, brings toys and joy to all the good little boys and girls. Although this tradition seems to have been fading away and being replaced with the more popular Santa Claus, he is still celebrated in many small towns and villages across the nation.
