Ryukyu Trench

The Ryukyu Trench is an 2,250 kilometer (1,398 mi) long ocean trench running north along the eastern edge of Japan's Ryukyu Islands in the Philippine Sea in the Pacific Ocean. It is located between Taiwan and Japan. The trench goes as deep as 5,212 meters (17,100 ft).

This trench has also been called the Nansei-Shoto Trench, after an alternate Japanese name for the Ryukyu Islands.
