This needs work! Too much of the article is taken up with the Zamindari system, and the contrasts are too stark. It does not explain the excessive burden on the cultivator, a feature common to the Ryotwari and the Zamindari systems, or the lack of saving and capital formation which resulted. The subject is of fundamental importance.Fconaway 11:25, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
