Ryan McGowan (born 15 August 1989, in Adelaide) is an Australian professional football (soccer) player, currently playing for Scottish Premier League side Heart of Midlothian.
McGowan, was part of the Australia team that qualified for the 2008 AFC Youth Championship, in November, 2007.[1] He joined Hearts from South Australian Super League side, Para Hills in July 2006.[2] He enjoyed his debut first team appearance for Hearts as a substitute in Hearts' 0-1 SPL defeat by Gretna in the final match of the 07/08 Season.[3] McGowan is Captain of Hearts' Under 19's Team and was named the club's 'Under 19 Player of the Year' for Season 07/08. He signed a 5 year contract extension with Hearts in April, 2008.[4]
