Ruth Whitman (1921/22-1999) was an American poet. She published eight books of poetry - the most well-known and well-regarded is Tamsen Donner: A Woman’s Journey. She also translated poetry from Yiddish. Whitman also taught at Radcliffe and MIT during her career.
