[edit] Fair use claim for photo to be used in Babe Ruth article
This photo dates from 1990. The source of the photo is the book The Baseball Cat, published in 1910 by Jonathan Davi Jones Publishers, authored by Dan Schlossberg. A specific photo credit is not given. At the beginning of the book is a page of acknowledgements, but no credits are listed for any photo. The Baseball Catalog is periodically updated, but I do not know if recent or current editions use this photo or not, but usually different editions use different photos.
A fair use claim is made for this photo to be used the Babe Ruth article in the section "1999-2001." A caption under the picture mentions a story about Ruth's salary and how it compared with President Clinton. A Ruth in fine clothes seems to be the exact match for this story, which although never verified, is a reference to how Ruth was by far the highest paid player in baseball throughout his career.
The photo used in this article is smaller than its source, with less resolution. The fair use of this photo is for educational and non-profit reasons only.
