[edit] Appelleations
I smell something suspicious that you list only 5 appellations. Can you quote exactly thext that mentions Russian controlled appellations?
I am not aware of any usage of the term "controlled appellation" as applied to Russian wines. (but I don't know way much more than know :-) I don't have any Russian google hits that speak about appelleations or something similar when I list the sorts you listed in the article.
On the other hand I know about the State Register of Plant Sorts Allowed for Use. Here is one for grapes. `'Míkka 05:59, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Sure, J. Robinson "The Oxford Companion to Wine" Third Edition pg 598 Oxford University Press 2006 ISBN 0198609906. Admittedly I am not an expert on Russian wine so I am just going off the source. For every country Robinson list the controlled appellations of origins and for Russia she listed those five. AgneCheese/Wine 06:13, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
- Since you hav this book at hand, how many did he list for France? `'Míkka 06:28, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
- For France she has a map with all of them listed. I don't need to count them all because there is easily over a hundred. AgneCheese/Wine 06:37, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
