Yes I know we are nut supposed to have dab pages with only one entry. Now consider: your name is Russell Bishop, you are not a notable person but neither are you a sex offender. Top Google hit for your name says that you're a sex offender. Not good.

So we (the OTRS cabal and Jimbo) decided to make a dab page and do this thing, to make a hurt and upset person less hurt and upset. It costs us roughly nothing, does not degrade the encylopaedia and makes someone's life a little better. Guy (Help!) 14:41, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

What about Frank Houston, Geoffrey Prime, Bob Shell, Gabriel Williams, and the rest of the Category:Sex offenders tree. If this is the cabal & Jimbo direction, don't those need to be sanitized as well? -- JHunterJ (talk) 20:38, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
No, it was a request from a member of the public who was coming under considerable strain. It was seen as a reasonable request and so it has been acted upon. No need for that tone. Woody (talk) 20:42, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
There's no tone. I actually expected that the others would be sanitized too, if there's a cabal decision behind it. Here's another good candidate, in that an actual dab page can be created: William Jordan. -- JHunterJ (talk) 21:05, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
Sorry if I have misinterpreted you comment, I thought you were moaning about the cabal. I have fixed the William Jordan one. Woody (talk) 21:16, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

I created Russell Bishop (academic) for teh win -- the dab pages exists, and the dab page follows WP:D and WP:MOSDAB. I left a comment on that article to see this Talk for background, in case someone decides it should be deleted for notability. (I think cabals are a fine way to get things done, but one of the hazards of doing things in secret is that other people aren't aware of the reasons.) :-) -- JHunterJ (talk) 13:35, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
