Rusty Warren (born Irene Goldman on March 17, 1931) is an American comedian and musician. Known as the "Knockers Up Gal," she has frequently been called the mother of the sexual revolution. Her career began in the early 1950s in Phoenix, Arizona. Later she moved her act to Las Vegas, Nevada. Her funny and insightful comedy routines exposed the subject of sex from a female perspective at a time when women were not even supposed to enjoy it, much less talk about it. Her most famous contribution to the sexual revolution was the song "Bounce Your Boobies" in which Warren encouraged women to relieve themselves of their bras.
Warren was born in New York City and adopted six months later by a couple from Milton, Massachusetts. She studied piano at the New England Conservatory of Music and then taught there briefly after obtaining her degree. Her musical mentor at the time was Arthur Fiedler, who later went on to become the conductor of the Boston Pops.
She recorded for Jubilee Records, then GNP Crescendo Records which reissued some of her earlier Jubilee albums.
Warren, who lives in Honolulu, is very active in local charities. She vacations in Palm Springs and Hollywood with friends and hosts her popular web site. Warren recently produced a DVD that chronicles her life in show business. The DVD, "The Lady Behind the Music", is scheduled to be released by Crescendo Pictures in 2007.
