Russ Karpisek

Russ Karpisek (born July 20, 1966 in Friend, Nebraska) is a Nebraska state senator from Wilber, Nebraska, United States, in the Nebraska Legislature. He is also the owner of a meat market in his hometown.

He was born on July 20, 1966, in Friend, Nebraska and graduated from Wilber-Clatonia High School in 1984 and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1989 with a B.S. in business administration. He married his wife, Jill, in 1990, and they have two children. Prior to being elected to the State Legislature, Karpisek was the mayor of Wilber, Nebraska from 1994 until 2006.

He was elected in 2006 to represent the 32nd Nebraska legislative district, which includes Fillmore, Jefferson, Saline, and Thayer counties, and the towns of Geneva, Fairbury, Crete, and Hebron. He currently sits on the Agriculture; General Affairs (vice chairperson); Government, Military and Veterans Affairs; and Nebraska Retirement Systems Committees; as well as the Committee on Committees.
