Category talk:Russian philologists
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Probably we both are not exactly correct here. According to, for example, to Encyclopaedia Britannica, "the term philology, where used, means the study of languageāi.e., linguistics." So it is not a subdivision of linguistics, but is linguistics, and all philologists are linguists by definition (classical philology is a bit different matter). I'd say, a redirect (see also) would suffice. --Barbatus 12:07, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
- In Russia "philology" is first of all study of literature.--Bubuka 17:01, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
