Rupsa is located at 22.8333° N 89.5833° E . It has 27774 units of house hold and total area 120.15 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Rupsa has a population of 150185. Males constitute are 51.98% of the population, and females 48.02%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 77918. Rupsa has an average literacy rate of 40.4% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
