[edit] Description

Umm, can we get a description? Saxo's doesn't really tell me much; like, how big is it, how long, &c.? It's fascinating...i want to know more! Lindsay 09:17, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

This article says that it is 34 "Danish ells". If a Danish ell is comparable to a Swedish ell, it is 17 metres long, or about 20 yards long.--Berig 09:28, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Amn't i reading Saxo correctly in talking about over hill-tops and along valley bottoms? That's gotta be more than 17 metres. Lindsay 20:28, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Yes, you're right. I guess Saxo is talking of the entire dolerite dike (which may stretch for a very long distance), while the measurement I gave your refers to the famous stretch of "runes" that people visit. I haven't been there myself.--Berig 20:36, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
