Runic inscription, Kvarnbacken, Lidingö, Sweden. Discovered 1984. From Viking age (800-1050). The text in Swedish: "Åsmund ristade runor efter Sten, sin farfar och fadern till Sibbe och Gerbjörn och ..(ej synligt)..Ulfs. Här ett stort minnesmärke efter en god man." The text in English: ”Åsmund carved runes in memory of his grandfather Sten, father of Sibbe and Gerbjörn and ..(not visible)..Ulfs. Here a great monument over a good man.” The figures shows large snakes and on top a Maltese cross typical for the late Viking age. Registration No. Sweden, Riksantikvarieämbetet, Lidingö No. 23:2 (also decribed as Lidingö No. 23:1).
