[edit] Fungi and Lignin
There is no evidence to suggest that fungi degrade lignin in the rumen. While there are some fungi that can break down lignin, this process is aerobic, and could not occur in the rumen. Further, and perhaps more worryingly, this article is completely innocent of any references, while there are many references to support many statements made. Unfortunately, I do not know how to insert references, or i would do it myself. Dalekmikey 23:18, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
