A Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) is a mobile gantry crane used for stacking shipping containers within the stacking areas of a container terminal. RTG's are used at container terminals and container storage yards when straddling multiple lanes of rail/road and/or container storage, or when maximum storage density in the container stack is desired.
