| Description |
This is a logo owned by Ruby Country Initiative for Ruby Country. Further details: Ruby Country is a rural area of north-west Devon. The Ruby Country Initiative, started in the aftermath of the 2001 foot and mouth disease outbreak, seeks to develop a stronger local economy and to promote the brand and identity of “Ruby Country” on a wider scale. Some of the key resources that contribute to the Ruby Country offering are the environmental assets (dominated by rare culm grassland - over half the area falls within the North Devon Biosphere) and the rural heritage. This is reflected in the logo which highlights the local Ruby Red Cattle breed (ideally suited to grazing on the culm), thus linking landscape, farming and the rural character of the area. |
