The Faculty is the debut studio album by Canadian horrorcore group Ophilia, side project of Vixen Windstorm of Godsolid. The album is scheduled for a possible release in late 2008 or 2009 by Faceless Records, and will be self-produced. The Faculty will be a concept album, revolving around an intricate theme Ophilia describes as, "Egyptian curses meet Satanic UFOlogy." The album is also inspired by underground hip hop group Non Phixion, and the American technical death metal band Nile.

[edit] Background information
When Godsolid vocalist Vixen Windstorm began writing music in late 2003, he had been immersing himself into hip hop, not unlike his initial influences Linkin Park and Eminem. Four years later, having delved immensely into other genres of music (and shedding the aforementioned bands as major influences), Windstorm had settled down to adapting songwriting to the most personal and intricate of his current influences, black metal and progressive rock. Having written a potential black metal EP a la Emperor between May and July 2006, and begun writing another potential full-length album in late September 2006, and even begun gradually writing a progressive record a la Tool on New Years' Eve 2006, it seemed all ties to Windstorm's original influence were all but lost.
However with Windstorm's growing interest in hardcore hip hop and horrorcore, including artists such as Mr. Hyde, Necro and Non Phixion came his interest in immersing himself into the genre as well, as a side project per se. The early hours of August 10, 2007 would see the first act towards establishing horrorcore as a project of Windstorm's expression. With encouragement from Godsolid's ex-initial drummer Randy Talent, Windstorm began writing the first track, what would be deemed the title track, of The Faculty, the potential debut album of the side project in question.
Around the time the idea was conceived, Windstorm approached longtime friend and The Heretics' founder and guitarist Solomon Ach in regards to a potential collaboration on a track that would appear on the album. Windstorm will also be producing and perfoming vocals, bass and additional guitarwork on The Heretics' debut album Ghouligan's Island. As of yet however, in what way Ach will be contributing to the album is not yet certain.
As of yet, the opening title track has been partially written, and as well an introduction titled "Cold Opening" has been imagined.
