[edit] Sortable Table

I think the idea of a sortable table would be nice, so that we could sort by enterance# or elimination#. Im gonna build one and see what its like and post it hereLessThanClippers (talk) 22:09, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

By using this table, we can look at Order of entrance, order of elimination, or easily see how many people were eliminated by a superstar, or who spent the most time in the rumble....

Draw Entrant Order Eliminated by Time
1 The Undertaker 11 Michaels 32:35
2 Shawn Michaels 12 Kennedy 32:41
3 Santino Marella 1 Undertaker 00:25
4 The Great Khali 2 Undertaker 01:08
5 Hardcore Holly 6 Umaga 13:46
6 John Morrison 14 Kane 29:24
7 Tommy Dreamer 3 Batista 02:08
8 Batista 27 Triple H 37:42
9 Hornswoggle - Left the ring with Finlay 24:36
10 Chuck Palumbo 5 Punk 04:00
11 Jamie Noble 4 Palumbo 00:28
12 CM Punk 16 Guerrero 23:51
13 Cody Rhodes 17 Triple H 23:15
14 Umaga 25 Batista 26:05
15 Snitsky 10 Undertaker 12:27
16 The Miz 13 Hornswoggle 13:07
17 Shelton Benjamin 7 Michaels 00:18
18 Jimmy Snuka 9 Kane 02:43
19 Roddy Piper 8 Kane 01:00
20 Kane 26 Batista & Triple H 17:58
21 Carlito 21 Cena 15:07
22 Mick Foley 19 Triple H 11:29
23 Mr. Kennedy 24 Batista 13:32
24 Big Daddy V 18 Triple H 07:49
25 Mark Henry 23 Cena 09:12
26 Chavo Guerrero 22 Cena 07:33
27 Finlay - Disqualified for using a shillelagh 00:15
28 Elijah Burke 20 Triple H 02:10
29 Triple H 28 Cena 11:22
30 John Cena - WINNER 08:28

LessThanClippers (talk) 22:32, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

personally, I like. I think it's a great idea, and nice job. NiciVampireHeart (talk) 22:34, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Considering there should be uniformity for all Royal Rumble Matches... I posted this to the project page, and think we should continue the discussion there. LessThanClippers (talk) 22:41, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

I know this is a bit of a hard one to call but I think that Finlay and Hornswoggle should count as being eliminated in terms of having a number. Finlay was eliminated via DQ/by himself and Hornswoggle left, in essence eliminating himself. This will leave John as the only one without an eliminated number and show the order at what point they left. I can understand not wanting too though, but I think it'd be better for uniformity if it's only the winner who doesn't get a number. Tony2Times (talk) 11:55, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Also, elimination number 15 is missing from the table. I don't know how to rectify tables so someone else is gonna have to do it. Tony2Times (talk) 11:54, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
Per the discussion at Wp:PW I am going with the sortable tables. These issues are being corrected, I am building them all in userspace, but I have been busy at work, i expect major improvements on it by the end of the day.LessThanClippers (talk) 20:11, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
DONE LessThanClippers (talk) 16:29, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Elmination 15 is still missing from the table unless I'm a bit backwards. I also think Finlay&Horn should be numbered because they were eliminated, via DQ or no they were no longer contenders. If nothing else, it would help to show when they left the Rumble in context to everyone else. Tony2Times (talk) 23:43, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I am working on that, but I gotta go back and watch my rumble to figure that out, I am in the process of doing this to every rumble, and if you go to WP:PW you can read about some of my other suggestions for this, including brand sorting. I have been working on the pre-brand extension years currently, allowing people time to comment on the brand sorting. LessThanClippers (talk) 00:44, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Finlay's DQ

Can we clear something up? Some people seem to think that Finlay was disqualified for using a weapon, however, this is inconsistent considering The Sandman used his signature cane last year without punishment. I think that the actual reason that Finlay was disqualified was for entering at the wrong time... even the commentators touched upon this theory more than the weapon idea. However, references need to be in writing, so if anyone can find a source confirming this, it would help. User:Rick 50000 (talk) 23:35, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

You would think so, but WWE.com explicitly states that he was DQed for shillelagh use. Gavyn Sykes (talk) 23:45, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
I heard on commentary that he was disqualified for jumping the gun on entering. Weapons have always been legal in RR, it's a No DQ match essentially. I mean people have interfered but you don't see the guy who they were helping out getting disqualified like in a regular match. I remember a few occasions where weapons were used. It was because Finlay came out early. TonyFreakinAlmeida (talk) 06:30, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Kane

It should be mentioed that Kane has made the most eliminations in a royal rumble —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.245.249.238 (talk • contribs)

Already mentioned in the article of the Rumble he set that record in (2001, I think). TJ Spyke 08:01, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] John Cena's Title shot

In the first paragraph it was mentioned that as traditional the winner gets to face the champion of his choice at Wrestlemania. It should mention that John Cena has decided to use his championship shot at a different pay per view —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.245.249.238 (talk • contribs)

It's mentioned in the Aftermath section, try checking first next time. TJ Spyke 08:01, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Why are my edits to the Entry/Elimination table always reverted??

I've been trying to make a change in the sortable table because Roddy Piper's elimination number appears blue-linked and as "08," whereas the elimination numbers of the other contestants are not blue-linked and (in the cases of numbers below 10) appear without the "0" to the left. My edits, however, keep being reverted by different users (so far iMatthew and Truco9311). Why is this so?--Andresg770 (talk) 17:44, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

I am sorry, my revert was a mistake. I did not notice that the number was wikilinked. I have now reverted back to your revision. Cheers, =)--TrUCo9311 17:53, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
I am sorry also. My revert was also a mistake, as I also didn't notice the number was wikilinked. iMatthew 17:55, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Aftermath

Should it be noted in the aftermath that Ric Flair won by disqualification against MVP the following Smackdown in a rematch that was career threatening? Also should we put the Mr. Kennedy-Flair match for No Way Out or should we wait a little longer? Derrty2033 Y0! Guest 04:40, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

I'm going to write the aftermath probably after No Way Out. I'll do this because then I'll have all the information I need. Cheers, LAX 11:30, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
Future matches aren't noted, so anything about NWO shouldn't be added until after NWO (the exception being Cena's title shot since he is requesting his title shot be early). TJ Spyke 01:32, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

I have a photo from Madison Square Garden @ the royal rumble. I can contribute pictures —Preceding unsigned comment added by Solrac819 (talkcontribs) 02:56, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Shouldn't aftermath come after results? LessThanClippers 00:11, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

The current format is the one we've used in every expanded PPV (including some that made FA status), so you should bring this up at the project talkpage if you really want it changed (since this would affect dozens of articles). TJ Spyke 00:43, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Pictures

[edit] Other Talent

Now as much as I'd love to forget the fact that he was even there, Mike Adamle made his hideous debut at the Rumble and although he wasn't a ring announcer or commentator, should he not feature in the other onscreen talent box, although I don't know what his role would be, nor am I particularly good with boxes otherwise I would have edited it myself.
