Talk:Royal Dutch Shell environmental issues
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In accordance with the advance notice I posted on the discussion page of the article "Controversies surrounding Royal Dutch Shell", I have started a new article focused solely on environmental issues. I am engaged in transferring across all appropriate sections before deleting them from the previous article. Hopefully this process will be completed later today. [edit] NPOV?
I wasn't sure whether to tag this with the {{npov}} tag. Article so far seems to be saying nothing about what RDS is doing to address criticism about their actvities. Mjroots (talk) 14:48, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
This article is an offshoot from an existing offshoot article:"Controversies surrounding Royal Dutch Shell". There is nothing new added yet, other than the introduction, which I believe is fair and balanced. The positives about Shell in relation to initiatives on renewable energy etc are on the main Royal Dutch Shell article. What is stated here in this article is all verifiable fact. If anyone has any input in terms of facts addressing the stated record and associated issues, then of course they are free to contribute. Johnadonovan (talk) 18:19, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
The article has only existed for a matter of hours and I will, within the next 24 hours, be adding links and information between the various articles relating to Royal Dutch Shell. Johnadonovan (talk) 18:52, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] References
This being an article on controversies, it is really important that the article is properly referenced. Currently the article has a lot of inline external links, but they should all be transformed into footnote references so it is more readily apparent what sources back up the facts. Thanks for the comment which I accept and will deal with ASAP. Johnadonovan (talk) 21:32, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
I now have some other work that needs doing this weekend and beyond so if anyone has the time to add the footnotes, please do so. I would be most grateful for the help. There were no relevant footnotes on the article from which the content was transferred. However, independent verification sources are already provided for ALL information, so it is not a case of no reference sources. Johnadonovan (talk) 13:43, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
