Roy Fink (Hebrew: רועי פינק‎) is a former Israeli football (soccer) player and currently a coach at the Colorado Rapids U-23s.

[edit] Playing career

Roy Fink started his youth soccer career playing for Macabbi Tel-Aviv where he played for the U9-U12 Boys team. Roy transferred to Hapoel Kafar-Saba where he played all the way from U12-U16. At that time Roy was belonged to the Israeli U16 National team. Roy participated in the respectful winter tournament with his U16 National team where he played all five games and led the National team to second place. At the age of 16 Fink was purchased by Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv F.C U18 team. Fink was a dominant player for the U18 team and led the team to a second place in the Prenier U18 league as well as a lost in the IFA National Cup. At that time Fink was belonged to the U18 National team that participates in the UEFA U18 European Cup. Fink started his professional career at Bnei Yehuda in his native Israel where he played for the 1994-1996 seasons. He also played for Hapoel Ramat Gan during the 1996-97 season [1]. During his time at Hapoel Ramat Gan, he played in one of the clubs most historic matches, a 3-2 win over Hapoel Taibe in a Liga Artzit match that saved the club from relegation [2]. Afterwards Fink joind the club of Hakoach Macabu ramat-Gan wherehe played for two full seasons. Afterwards, he joined the University of Tampa where he was a standout. In his career at the University of Tampa fink led the Spartans to a National Championship as a captain (2001). Fink was awarded as 4 years All-Conference first team as well as four years South Region First team selection. Fink was awarded as 2000 and 2001 All-America and in 2001 National College Soccer Player of the Year. Fink was also awarde as the Jewish All American at the University of Tampa.[3].Fink also played Semi-Professional in America for the Cape Cod Crusaders in the summer of 2000. He also played for the Colorado Rapids U23 in the summers between the years 2001-2004. Fink is currently the Assistant Director of coaching at Strictly Soccer Futbol Club in St. Petersburg, Florida as well as the Assistant Coach for the Colorado Rapids U-23. Roy is a member of a very successful athletic family. His Grandfather, Perry Neufeld, was a professional footballer with Maccabi Tel Aviv and the Palestine/Eretz Israel national team during the British Mandate of Palestine. His mom, Thelma was the Israel National teamer record holder for swimming. Fink's Sister Tal was a top 100 ATP youth Tennis player before joining the Israeli Army. Roy's brother was a professional soccer player for Hapoel Kafar Saba before joining the army and serving as an officer in the Israeli fights against the Palestinians.
