Pallett was born and brought up in Carlisle, Cumbria, by her mother and grandmother, where she attended Robert Ferguson Primary School and Trinity Secondary School.

After completing a degree in media and cultural studies at Liverpool John Moores University, she was a founder member of the girl band Urban Angel. After being signed to a music producer, Pallett decided to pursue an acting career. In 2005, Pallett landed her first acting role as Jo Stiles in ITV1's Emmerdale.

In 2007, she was honoured with her very own rose called the "The Roxanne Pallett Rose" which is a deep red coloured hybrid tea rose.[1]

After her character in Emmerdale became involved in a domestic abuse storyline, Pallettt admitted to being in an abusive relationship several years ago.[2]

She is also on the cover of the July 2008 edition of Loaded.
