Route 44 Leg A is a short east/west county road, between Tavares and Leesburg. It serves as an alternate route for north-bound US 441 traffic to reach east-bound Lake CR 44. Route 44 Leg A is probably a former alignment of U.S. Route 441 in the area.[citation needed]
