Rougemont Gardens

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Rougemont Gardens are a series of ornamental open spaces adjacent to the Rougemont Castle in Exeter, Devon. They are also bounded by Northernhay Gardens and the Exeter City Central Library.

This gardens contain a steep cutting (remnants of the defensive ditch around the castle). The gardens are used by the Northcott Theatre to stage Shakespearean plays in the summer, generally as part of the Exeter Festival.

The gardens are maintained as a public space by Exeter City Council [1].
