[edit] The colour magenta

At the very base of the page, under the "shades of violet section" I think the colour magenta has been given the wrong colour tab - it is certainly a different colour than the magenta under the "shades of red" and "shades of pink" sections, I think that it may be fuschia, rather than magenta. I'm not really sure how to fix it, or if I'm right... Does anyone else see a difference? ::

The trouble is that there are several magentas. Fuchsia is also known as magenta or "electric magenta". Whatever set of editors did the shades templates wasn't always being consistent. Here's a snippet of the shades of red to illustrate the alt names and numbers (the first four on the second row).

| width="5%" style="font-size:90%;" | Girlsnberry
| width="5%" style="font-size:90%;" | Hollywood Cerise
| width="5%" style="font-size:90%;" | Magenta

|style="background:#D15C5C; "| <!-- Girlsnberry -->
|style="background:#F400A1; "| <!-- Hollywood Cerise -->
|style="background:#FF0090; "| <!-- Process (Printer's) Magenta -->

Go to template:Shades of pink or template:Shades of violet and edit to see the others. It's not obvious what would be the right fix. Dicklyon 00:13, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
