Rossmore Castle also known as Rossmore Park was a castle in Monaghan in Ireland. It has been demolished now.

[edit] History

The building was a 19th century castle. Originally built by a Lord Rossmore in 1827 in Gothic style it was extended in 1858.

Lord Rossmore and the Shirleys of Lough Fea had competed for many years for the largest room in County Monaghan with the result that the drawing room at Rossmore was extended five times. [1] After the Second World War, dry rot forced the abandonment of the castle which has since been demolished.
