Roses, Kings, Castles
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Roses, Kings, Castles is a musical project set up by Babyshambles drummer Adam Ficek.[1]
It was initially set up as a formal creative feed for Babyshambles, and a platform to build and air his musical ideas. "It's an outlet for putting stuff out, just demos that I've been working on", states Ficek.[2]
The recordings are initially demo quality, with all instruments played by Adam.
Roses, Kings, Castles has released a single called 'Sparkling Bootz' it was released in April 2008, and assured fan there is more to come.
Roses, Kings, Castles is Babyshambles drummer Adam Ficek - he's made a load of one-track CDs and is mailing them to anyone who sends him an SAE. It's the kind of DIY ethic that prevents us from giving the record a bruising. Thankfully, it's not necessary, as 'Sparking Bootz' is lovely - all dinky acoustic plinks, shronky Steptoe and Son swagger and Ficek's feather-soft croon. What with Drew's swing renditions of 'Delivery', Pete's piano-led solo work and this, Babyshambles are proving a rather more genre-traversing act than we thought. We await the Mik Whitnall UK garage takerover with bated breath. - NME
