Rosemary LaPlanche (October 11, 1923–May 6, 1979) was Miss America in 1941.
LaPlanche, from Los Angeles, California, was Miss California in both 1940 and 1941. A new rule after her victory disallowed contestants from competing at the national level more than once.[1] She also had an active career as a movie actress.
LaPlanche had a sister named Louise La Planche. Her measurements were 34-24-36, and height was 5' 5½" (1.66 m).[citation needed]. She had a husband, Harry Koplan (1947–1973), and two children: one son and one daughter.
Rosemary LaPlanche—Miss America 1941—was first-runner up in the 1940 pageant. The rules were changed shortly thereafter to ensure that contestants could only compete once (at the national level) for the Miss America title.
