Rosebery School for Girls

Rosebery School is an all girls comprehensive school for 11-18 year olds, situated in Epsom, Surrey. It has reccently been awarded a Maths and ICT specialist status. The school's motto is 'Where Girls Excel'.

The school has approximately 1500 girls on roll and over 100 teaching staff. Heavily over subscribed, Rosebery School is the product of the amalgamation of Rosebery Grammar School for Girls and Epsom County School for Girls. It also has a Sixth Form, which when reccently inspected by Ofsted, was rated 'excellent'. It is known for having a close relationship with nearby, Glyn Technology School

Heather Saunders in the current, popular, long running head teacher, however Sarah McIntosh is due to fill this role in January 2009.

Alumni include the ER and Doctor Who actress Alex Kingston.

Rosebery School is the only girls state school in the Surrey Educational local authority and consistently achieves GCSE results of over 80% A-C.

In 2007 the school was divided into four houses; Diamond, Emerald, Sapphire and Ruby. Previosuly there were eight houses; Brookner, Boothroyd, Cooper, Dench, Glennie, Gunnell and Sharman.
