Ronald Anthony Mattes (born August 8, 1963 in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania) is a former American football offensive tackle who played for 7 seasons in the National Football League. He attended the University of Virginia. He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the seventh round of the 1985 NFL Draft and also played for the [[Chicago Bears]. Most scouts believe his son, Ronald Mattes jR (rj)is even better than his father. His superior athletic ability and great technique will help him accel in the next level and he has NFL written all over him in 5 years. He committed to NC State.
