Romantikeo is a sub-genre of Reggaeton. It is a fusion of Pop, R&B, and Reggaeton. The name Romantikeo comes from the words "romantic" and "mixeo" (Puerto Rican slang for mix). Romantikeo resembles R&B more than anything else. Romantikeo was rarely used until late the late 90's, when then newcomers Magnate y Valentino brought it to a much wider audience. Zion y Lennox are considered to be the pioneers of Romantikeo in the new school scene of Reggaeton. Today, more and more reggaetoneros slowly adapting to it like Zion y Lennox, Magnate y Valentino, Tito El Bambino, De La Ghetto, Randy, Don Omar, Juan D@, Divino, Naldo, Rakim & Ken-Y, Cruzito and Baby Rasta are among those who have made a name in the genre.
