[edit] {{Basketball kit}}
It's screwed up in IE, although on Firefox it looks fine. --Howard the Duck 06:45, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- I think this is fixed. Rolando 04:28, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wiki for Evolution and Human Behavior?
Hi Rolondo. I was wondering...what do you think of the idea of creating a wiki for evolution and human behavior. I'm thinking along the lines of a wiki that would focus on things like evolutionary psychology, human behavioral ecology, dual inheritance theory, etc. Something that would detail all of the theories, hypotheses, models, researchers, programs of study, institutes, etc. in this area. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Have a good one! EPM 20:27, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Basketball kit
I tried uploading a kit shorts template, it worked, almost, but the shorts aren't outlined (see Welcoat Dragons). --Howard the Duck 06:06, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
- its because your image has no black outline around the white sections. --Dan027 06:41, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
-
- the default basketball kit shorts has a black outline around the shorts, as does the default top. well this is how it appears using firefox anyways. --Dan027 07:45, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
-
-
- I create tank tops without borders but they appear to be bordered normally. I created the pattern for the Welcoat Dragons (Image:Kit body thinleftredside.png) and shows fine at Firefox. --Howard the Duck 08:33, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
-
- Hey, I'm back now. Did you ever figure out the issue here? I can look into it. Rolando 12:24, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
- I should explain this in the talk for the basketball uniform template, but anyway... This all comes from the football (soccer) kit. there, the middle jersey has no "lines" on the right and left, instead those lines are provided by the sleeve image. Why? I have no idea! Alas, basketball jerseys have no sleeves! So we use the Superimpose template to put that line on and then do the little "cut out" at the top where the sleeves would go. Basically, there's a bunch of wackiness to a) build upon the football kit and b) make it look reasonably like a basketball jersey. Rolando 12:18, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
Is there a way to prevent adding several <color>sides patterns and instead use the blanksides and you'll just set a color? --Howard the Duck 06:08, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- I think the best practice here is to pick a generic color--black or white, usually, and make that the non-transparent color. Then make the other "color" transparent. If the shorts are of three colors, then pick the two most common colors and make the third transparent. Rolando 14:25, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] basketball kit
hello rolando,
i'm currently working on a national basketball article in another language tl.wikipedia and i'm having a problem with the basketball kit. since you created the basketball infobox template, i believe you are the best person to ask. if you'll notice, in this article Pambansang koponan ng basketbol ng Pilipinas in the uniform (uniporme) section, the jersey is not the sleeveless-type used in basketball. if it's not too much to ask, can you please help fix this? thanks and more power. here's my tl talk page -> tl:User talk:Rebskii and my en talk page User talk:Rebskii. --RebSkii 19:32, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
- Fixed and responded on user's talk page. Rolando 12:14, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- thanks a lot for fixing it. --RebSkii 18:35, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Transparency in basketball jerseys
In my browser (IE6), the basketball jerseys show solid gray where the transparent colors should be (see Purdue Boilermakers men's basketball). I downloaded your png files to fix it, but it pulled up as transparent in my MS Photo Editor, so the png appears to be right. Is there something wrong with how it's applied in the template, or is it simply a browser issue on my end? Hoof Hearted 18:00, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Hoof Hearted
- I believe I ran into this elsewhere. It may be a problem with IE6 where it cannot display transparent PNGs correctly. If you change that image to a GIF then it may behave more agreeably. Rolando 12:05, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'm working with Rjgodoy who seems to have found a good workaround - changing the color pallet used on all non-transparent kits. Hoof Hearted 14:08, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- Just to clarify something you wrote earlier on Rjgodoy's talk page... I believe there are only three shirts you might need to change, unless I am missing something really obvious: Image:Kit body basketball.gif (PNG?!), Image:Kit body bb whitetrimnumbers.png, Image:Kit body bb trimnumbersonwhite.png
- In any case, see the Template:Superimpose template. You just can't overlay PNGs on top of anything else in IE.

- Right. I was primarily concerned with the numbered basketball jerseys because that's what I was adding to Purdue's page. But I thought we may as well fix all the football kits at the same time in case other users encountered the same problem - possibly without even realizing it. Hoof Hearted 18:47, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] national basketball team template
Hello Ronaldo,
I had a question for you, perhaps you can help since you created {{infobox national basketball team}}, is there any way to modify the template to use a supplied image size? Right now if the logo is not 120px, it will get stretched. Can we add a "logo size" parameter? Please let me know if you think this is possible, and if you don't have free time, I'll take a shot at updating the template, but don't want to mess up what you did so far! Thanks. // laughing man 18:51, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- I added the logo_size parameter and added some documentation to the template. I'll clean that up now. Rolando 15:22, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

- Works great!! Thanks Ronaldo! // laughing man 15:57, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Cuban National League
Hi Rolando,
I notice that you've done a lot of editing on articles on Cuban baseball. Quite a while ago, I created the article Cuban National League, which has substantial overlap with other articles such as Cuban National Series. In retrospect, the name Cuban National League was clearly a misnomer (which I picked up from one of the Web sites), since that name apparently isn't used in Cuba, and I think the article really ought to be renamed and the focus changed to focus on the country's overall baseball system, from youth leagues up to the national team. I'm thinking maybe Cuban Baseball Federation might be a better name for the article. But you're the expert on Cuban baseball, so I'll certainly defer to your advice. Because my Spanish-language ability is weak, I'm really probably not the best person to revise the article, so I'd like to invite you to do so if you're interested. What do you think? BRMo 05:18, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- I will do something with this shortly. There is some complication in that there is predictably some labyrinthine Cuban bureaucracy to oversee sports (INDER, FCNB, etc.). I don't really have time to properly research how this fits together but I can try to start. Rolando 15:14, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Yellow_Armpits
Ayo "Ronaldo" i see u made this http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/8b/Kit_left_arm_yellowarmpits.png wondering if u could make the yellow armpit into black, have no idea how to...let me know...thanks —The preceding unsigned comment was added by The-real-zeus (talk • contribs) 12:34:16, August 19, 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Thank you Rolando
Dear Rolando, thank you for being fair and not lashing out at me. I will change my tone. I have included reference and quotations from respected British historian Marko Attila Hoare. Thank you. Bosniak 20:16, 1 December 2007 (UTC) Retrieved from "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Edward_S._Herman"
[edit] Too wide
I've uploaded a basketball shorts image (essentially same as Image:Kit shorts.png but I cropped the sides) but it screwed up the shorts patterns. Can you think of a solution? How about reuploading all shorts patterns into their own basketball shorts.png filename? --Howard the Duck 07:12, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hey there. Where is the broken one? I know that a lot of the shorts patterns that existed were slightly different from Image:Kit shorts.png. The image has to be the full width, of course. It needs the white space on the sides to work. Rolando (talk) 12:17, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- I've created commons:Image:Kit basketball shorts.png since the sides can be cropped; an infobox has gaps and the gaps can be used to add an optional third kit so it won't stretch the infobox. I understood that the white space is used to compensate other uniforms that have sleeves, the basketball shirt doesn't have one. --Howard the Duck 12:30, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
