Why was he fired from ABC?

  • If you're referring to Mr. Grimsby's 1986 firing from WABC-TV, my understanding is that it was a combination of factors including a new news director and the direction he wanted to take the newscasts, his years of rubbing some people the wrong way, his salary, and the effects of Capital Cities' takeover the prior year of ABC (the last two being especially inter-related). Also, until this new news director took over, Grimsby had been able to write his own copy when anchoring the news, but the new guard had usurped that aspect from him. Those were the reasons I heard being given by the press at the time. –Wbwn 22:18, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
