Rogan Mistique Smith (born August 29, 1979) in Nassau, Bahamas is a Bahamian journalist, media personality and news writer who gained popularity as one of the lead news anchors at one of the Bahamas’ leading radio station, Love 97 FM.

She currently serves as the news anchor for Star 106.5 and and is a senior writer for The Nassau Guardian. She also worked as a daily news anchor for Love 97FM and The Bahama Journal owned by Jones Communications. Smith started her career early and has anchored the station’s flagship evening newscast on numerous occasions, filling in for regular anchor, Tameka Lundy. Many of her articles have been used in the U.S. media over the years.

Rogan Smith was born in Nassau, Bahamas, the daughter of Illinois Cash (née Smith) and Wycliffe Albury, an electrical contractor and entrepreneur.She is the second of four children and was raised in a Roman Catholic household. Smith attended St. Anne’s High School in Nassau, Bahamas and later went on to the College of the Bahamas where she studied Journalism. She later attended school in Cuba for two years, studying Spanish and Literature at the University of Matanzas in Matanzas, Cuba. After leaving Cuba, she enrolled in Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia in 2003 where she pursued a degree in Broadcasting and Spanish. She graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor’s Degree.

Smith’s reporting career began when she was hired by Tribune Managing Editor, John Marquis as a general-assignment news reporter at The Tribune in Nassau, Bahamas in 2001. She worked there for one year, but in that time had already covered assignments usually reserved for senior reporters. She was a regular Supreme Court reporter, Parliamentary correspondent, covering the Senate and the House of Assembly, and was a key player in the Bahamas’ 2002 General Election. Smith also worked as a correspondent for the Associated Press at the San Juan, Puerto Rico bureau for three years. She covered several high profile stories, including the death of R&B singer, Aaliyah, the trial of notorious drug kingpin, Samuel “Ninety” Knowles and the death of late Playboy pin-up model, Anna Nicole Smith and the custody battle of her daughter, Dannielynn Hope Marshall Birkhead.

Shortly after leaving The Tribune, Smith began her radio career at Jones Communications working for both the company’s radio station, Love 97 FM and its newspaper, The Bahama Journal. In less than a week on the job, Smith, who had no prior radio experience, was assigned to the daily anchor desk and worked solo on weekend duty newscasts. Smith has interviewed many international figures and celebrities, including former Secretary of State, Colin Powell, U.S. Ambassador to the Bahamas, John Rood, and basketball legend, Julius 'Dr. J' Erving.
