[edit] Welcome
Hi RockNRev
Welcome to Wikipedia. Please be aware of the Wikipedia:Three revert rule which says that you may not add (or remove) anything from a Wikipedia page more than three times in 24hrs. You have already done this 4 times on Protest Warrior. The idea is that instead of just making the changes you like you discuss it with other editors. Thanks for your cooperation. [edit] Spam
You may want to review WP:SPAM, which is official policy; linking to your own site is against policy. KHM03 (talk) 20:47, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
- Please do not add commercial links (or links to your own private websites) to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links to the encyclopedia as we drive for print or DVD publication; see the welcome page to learn more. Thanks. -- KHM03 (talk) 20:53, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
- Please stop. If you continue to use Wikipedia for advertising, you will be blocked from editing. -- KHM03 (talk) 21:01, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
It's considered spam to add a link to your own site, even in a "reactions" section...anywhere. Look, I don't care one way or the other about the Protest Warrior thing...but we have to follow Wikipedia policy. Please review the spam policy. Also, please remove the internal links, or I'll have to do so. We don't have to like the rules, but we do need to play by them. Thanks...KHM03 (talk) 21:09, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
- An internal link is a link anywhere but the "external links" section...such as the "reactions" section. It is possible that someone else can add a link to your site at some point, but judging by the discussion on the talk page, it might be tough for you. You need to build a consensus for their inclusion. Please remove your links in the reactions section. KHM03 (talk) 21:45, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
KHM03 is correct - it would be better if you didn't use Wikipedia to link to your own sites. Feel free to contribute in other ways. Rhobite 22:11, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
Hi there.
I got a message from you about reverting things three times in a day. Yes, I did that. Sorry, but the reason is that I put 3 links up on the wikipedia.com "protest warrior" page and each time I did it, a protest warrior named "rogue 9" deletes them. They are not spam, nor are they vandalization of the page. They are simply links to stories that are critical of the protest warriors and because they want to paint a fake picture of themselves, they keep deleting everything I put on their page.
Check it yourself and please advise. (by RocknRev)
Hi RocknRev
I'm replying to you on this page rather than mine, for no particular reason. First don't worry about the three revert warning. I wrote what I wrote simply to draw your attention to a rule you might not know about so that you don't fall foul of it. If you don't do more than three reverts a day you won't have a problem.
Regarding whether or not the links you want to include should be included, the way to sort this out is to discuss it on the talk page. Explain why you think the link should be there - let the other person explain why he/she doesn't. Try to get the opinions of some other people.
One issue is that you are clearly the author of the site you want to link to. That will cause people (rightly or wrongly) to suspect your motives and your neutrality. It would be much better if you could find another site that criticises the organisation but isn't written by you.
Also a lot of the things on the RocknRev site seem to be about Protest Warrior's criticisms of you personally. That doesn't make for interesting reading for most people coming to Wikipedia. Again linking to another site would be much better if you can find one.
There is no problem with putting links critical of Protest Warrior on the page. However it's much better if you can find links that are themselves well-sourced or clearly reliable (such as a new agency). DJ Clayworth 22:19, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
