[edit] Notability 01/08

The only references for this episode are Memory Alpha (see WP:SPS) and the official Star Trek website (which is not independent of the subject matter). I think we need to better establish the notability of this subject. --Explodicle (talk) 14:46, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

It has been established that we can have an article for every Star Trek episode, do you mean the article needs references? Alastairward (talk) 11:31, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Before I drone on and on about reliable sources, could you link to the discussion where this is established? Maybe I'm missing something. --Explodicle (talk) 13:06, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
I'll try and find it for you, basically someone had sent an episode straight to AfD and it was kept on the basis of every other episode of Star Trek being on wikipedia Alastairward (talk) 13:13, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

This is what I was thinking of, if it suffices? Alastairward (talk) 13:32, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

It looks like during the process of that AfD they elaborated on the real-world notability of the subject, with well-referenced commentary on the theme and cast reactions. Do you think this episode has made such an impact? Right now the article is just a plot summary. --Explodicle (talk) 14:13, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
I've added a cast reaction, as you suggested. Do you think you might take this to AfD? Alastairward (talk) 14:35, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Is there anything like the "Star Trek: The Human Frontier" reference in the example article? The Nana Visitor quote is some real world influence, but not much. Anyways, now that it's got a reliable source I don't think we should delete. --Explodicle (talk) 16:37, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Google didn't turn up anything with a brief search, sadly I don't have many Trek reference books on the newer series. If I find anything, I try and post it, but most of what I've come across has been added to other articles already Alastairward (talk) 21:10, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
