[edit] Spelling of name

The MetroCentre's website (metrocentre.com, which redirects to centreevents.com) refers to it as the "MetroCentre" (rather than Metro Center), as do the Rockford Register newspaper (eg [1]). -- Curps 16:08, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Date built

See for instance [2] which lists 1979 as the date it was built. -- Curps 16:27, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

Hmmm, on the other hand other sources say 1981, eg [3]. Since that's an interview with the facility manager, I presume they got this fact direct from her, so it's authoritative. -- Curps 16:29, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

It was started in 1979, finished/opened in '81. Big to-do in Rockford, as one of the first events was the Rolling Stones. It's local legend. Sad but true. PeteJayhawk 02:47, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
