[edit] Five platforms

Rockdale railway station actually has five platforms, however only four seem to be used today for regular commuter services - platform 1 seems to be a disused terminus, with the platform pointing in the same direction as the City-bound platforms (2 and 4). References to platforms 1/2/3/4 in the article should be 2/3/4/5 respectively. -Spiky Sharkie 13:36, 27 November 2005 (UTC)

Platform 1 is currently non electrified, but previously was and has a long siding to the south of it. This siding used to store a V set intercity train between the peak hours, and platform one was used to terminate occasional services. The siding and wires have now been removed.
