[edit] Cleanup
There are multiple reasons for cleanup, so just a quick overview:
- A lot of the article appears to be copy-pasted from the RTV website timeline with some minor formatting changes.
- The part that was copy-pasted causes a mixed tense: parts are in past-tense, parts are in present-tense. Things that occurred in the past should be past-tense and not present-tense.
- The timeline, if it is to remain, needs to be cleaned up and placed into its own section.
- Other sections likely need to be added
I'm sure there's more, the article right now is just a giant block of text. — Xenoveritas 15:39, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] NPOV
This article seems to be very critical of the partisan affiliation of RTV. It repeatedly questions this issue, and does so with a strong opinion. It does not present a balanced view of this particular issue, and it is therefore not neutral. -PhattyFatt 18:05, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- Neutrality is not the same as balance. Neutrality is ascribing opinions to the people who espouse them, rather than presenting them as Wikipedia's own opinions. The requirement is that Wikipedia professes and endorses no opinion, not that "pro-" and "anti-" have equal coverage. The main problem with this article is that it employs weasel words and doesn't state exactly who has voiced the criticisms. Uncle G 16:06, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
RTV is not "non-partisan". Look at the books in their recommended reading list - they are all "progressive" titles.[1] Furthermore, look at their non-profit partners, again almost all progressive organizations.[2]--Davidwiz 16:05, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Non-partisan does not mean "having no political point of view"; it means not being affiliated with a particular party. If RTV is seen as progressive, so be it. Does that make it somehow partisan--leaning toward the Democratic Party? What about the Green Party? What about Working Families? Socialist? It is only through the "winner-takes-all," lesser-of-two-evils lens that progressive can be equated with Democrat. MJFiorello 15:57, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
- Calling RTV "non-partisan" is falsing implying that it doesn't have an agenda. RTV is a leftist organization with an interest in promoting the Democratic vote by using spokesmen whom almost exclusively endorse candidates of the Green Party, DSA, and Democratic Party. Everyone knows how Leonardo votes...

[edit] Needs specifics
In 2004, Rock the Vote also raised awareness about the problem of student voting rights, encouraging students to fight back against efforts to suppress their vote such as occurred at Prairie View A&M University, College of William and Mary, and many others. How did these universities try to suppress students votes? Im not saying that they didnt but its way to vague a statement to leave in. 24.63.5.255 04:02, 19 April 2007 (UTC)Will
[edit] Weasle words
"With CNN, Rock the Vote organized "America Rocks the Vote," a Democratic Presidential Candidates Forum at Faneuil Hall in Boston in November of 2003. This debate was considered by many to be the liveliest and most informative of the entire race"
I didn't edit that (don't know enough to say) but moved it from 2004 into the 2003 section.Ebonyskye 04:25, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Rock the Vote Ireland
It has come to my attention that there is an RTV Ireland. Are they related to the RTV here in the US? Arbiteroftruth 15:14, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
