Some years ago I travelled from Roche to Newquay on a summer Saturday when the only trains on the branch were intercity trains from all over the county to the resort of Newquay. This meant that I had to stand on the platform and put my hand out to stop the train, which was an intercity 125! Roche being a request stop. The train did stop and I had a very comfortable ride.

I notice that in this years timetable there are no trains scheduled to call at Roche on summer Saturdays at all. I guest it’s all to do with Health and Safety and the trains being too long for the platforms but it’s not much good if you live at any of the branch line stations and wish to go out on a Saturday! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.13.230.22 (talk • contribs)
