Rocco B. Commisso is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mediacom. He was born in Calabria, Italy, he immigrated to the U.S. at age 12.

Currently the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Mediacom, founded the predecessor company in July 1995.
He serves on the board of directors and executive committees of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association and CableLabs, Inc., and on the board of directors of C-SPAN and the National Italian American Foundation and is an honorary chair of Cable Positive.
He was the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Director of Cablevision Industries Corporation from 1986-1995.
Before then he served as the Senior Vice President of Royal Bank of Canada's affiliate from 1981 where he founded and directed a specialized lending group to media and communication companies.
In 1978 he managed The Chase Manhattan Bank's lending activities to communication firms.
