Rochester, Michigan. Western Knitting Mill was built in 1896, and owned by brothers William & Charles Chapman and William Yawkey. With an output of 100,000 dozen pairs annually, it was one of the largest producers of these goods in the world. Today the mill is fully restored and is home to a restaurant and several businesses.
