My name is Robert Dumas and I live in Chicago, Illinois. I am a librarian with the Chicago Public Library. I was born and raised on Long Island in New York.
I am a graduate of Pratt Institute, where in 2007 I received my Master's degree in Library Science. I was once an engineering student, an IT technician, a web designer and web developer before becoming a librarian.
I have used, loved and hated all three big operating systems--Windows, Mac and Linux--but I have settled in nicely with my MacBook Pro, which currently boots Mac OS X (although I've plans for setting it up to dual-boot Ubuntu Linux and maybe even triple-boot Microsoft Windows).
I am single, but in love with a very wonderful and artistic woman, whom I have been dating for just over five years.
I am politically a fierce moderate and a solid atheist.
I love reading and occasionally writing. I am a spelling and grammar nazi and as such, most of what I do here is correct people's abyssmal copy.
My favorite band is Radiohead. My favorite authors are George Orwell and William Gibson. I have a website where I post rants, raves and weird thoughts.
