[edit] Father

It has been said that Sherard is:

  • an illegitimate son of the last Earl of Harborough
  • the son of Rev. Bennet Sherard Kennedy

It has also been said that he is the great grandson of William Wordsworth.

Sherard's works on Wilde have been attacked for his looseness with the truth; possibly he took the same approach when it came to details of his own ancestry. Does anyone have access to some proper research on Sherard's origins? ยท Stumps 10:57, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
