[edit] Date of Death
The DNB has the date of his death incorrectly as 10th August 1978. 28th August 1978 is confirmed by the obituary in The Times. DNB notified (third such error found where Wikipedia was correct!). --jmb 15:07, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
The date of death was actually August 27. The obituary appeared on the 28th. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.142.52.18 (talk) 21:18, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Shaw's writing credits
Robert Shaw also wrote at least one play for television. I can't remember the title or who was in it, but it was the story of two allied airmen being held in a cellar in Germany by a civilian named Frick who pretended to be hiding them but was in fact keeping them as pets. It aired sometime in the sixties.
- You're probably thinking of a novel "The Hiding Place," adapted for "Playhouse 90" in 1960, and "Situation Hopeless ... But Not Serious" (source: IMDb). David Spalding Talk, Contribs 17:46, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Yes, this is correct!
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Donald Grant.jpg
Image:Donald Grant.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Prior to 6/7/08, the changes made to Shaw's biography are incorrect, and unverifiable! The contributor who made the comment about Shaw becoming ill during the filming of Avalanche Express, thus, leading to his heart attack, referenced absolutely NO source for this information. Shaw was not ill, prior to his heart attack and in fact, his death came as a shock to his family. Also, a contributor stated Shaw was driving with his wife, Virginia and eldest son Thomas, prior to stopping his car and stepping out of his vehicle, trying to walk off his shortness of breath and chest pains. Thomas is and was Shaw's YOUNGEST son. The best written, reliable sources on Shaw's biography are: "Robert Shaw: More Than a Life. By Karen Carmean and Georg Gaston; Copyright 1994, Published by Madison Books" and Suzy Avon's web page, "http://www.robertshaw-forallseasons.com". Both the authors of Shaw's biography "Robert Shaw: More Than a Life", and Suzy Avon, have been contacted and PRAISED by Shaw's children for the research and accuracy which the authors and Suzy have completed and conveyed about their father's life. I am sure Carmean & Gaston's biography and Suzy's web page will prove very reliable and useful to everyone, when making future contributions to Shaw's Wiki page. Irshgrl500
I was just wondering if someone would be so kind as to once again list the link to my website; http://www.robertshaw-forallseasons.com as it seems to have been removed. I can assure you, it's non-profit and for educational purposes only and so many fans seem to enjoy it. I hope you can do this if it's not too much trouble. Thank you kindly in advance.
