[edit] Writings
A devoted admirer of Ayn Rand, Ringer wrote his most politically-oriented work, Restoring the American Dream (1979), which dealt with various problems in the United States, and offering solutions through a laissez-faire free market libertarian perspective (in recent years Ringer has modified his views, now describing himself as a "theoretical libertarian/practical conservative").
His first book, Winning Through Intimidation, was first published in 1974. In December 2004, Ringer revised and updated the book and republished it with a new title: To Be or Not to Be Intimidated?: That is the Question.
His other books include Looking Out for Number One (originally published in 1978, but a revised and updated edition is planned for Fall, 2006); Million Dollar Habits (1990), and Action!: Nothing Happens Until Something Moves (2005).
