Robert Murray Wolfe, LTC (Ret) was born September 1, 1935, in Elizabeth, NJ, the second of four children of the late Claude Robert and Helen K Wolfe, of Cheshire, CT. He entered the USArmy in 1961, after graduating from Rider College (University) in 1957, and graduating from the Connecticut Military Academy, in 1960. Subsequently, he served with the 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry (Manchu) and joined the US Special Forces (Green Beret's), serving as an A Team Leader, in the 10th SFGp (Airborne)(Bad Toelz) and the 5th SFGp (Airborne)(Nha Trang). He also served in combat, as the Operations Officer, of the 1st Battalion, 2nd Infantry (Black Scarves), BRO.
Other assignments included Command, Staff and Faculity positions with Infantry, Engineer, and Special Organizations; and he was a graduate of the US Army Command and Staff College, FT Leavenworth, KS.
Colonel Wolfe, a Regular Officer, earned numerous awards and decorations while in the service, however, none more honored the Combat Infantryman's Badge.
Upon retiring from the military, he lived in Palm Desert, CA, and was the Director Of Security and Safety for a prominent private community, in Indian Wells, CA.
He was married to the late Louise Hewitt Wolfe, and has two adult children; Robert Hewitt Wolfe, and Elizabeth Early Wolfe.
Colonel Wolfe currently resides in Orange County, CA.
