Robert F. Sargent

Robert F. Sargent was an American government photographer with the United States Coast Guard. He is best known for the image he took as Chief Photographer's Mate (CPHOM) troops of Company E, 16th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division landing onto Omaha Beach from a Coastguard landing craft (from the U.S. Coast Guard-manned USS Samuel Chase) on D-Day.
